Initiated in 1973, the Tulsa International Mayfest has turned into one of Tulsa’s most beloved art festivals. Held in the heart of downtown Tulsa, Tulsa International Mayfest runs four days and has something to offer everyone! Art, music, food and fun brings more than 350,000 people to the downtown Tulsa Mayfest.
Art and Music.
The Tulsa International Mayfest includes four indoor galleries: the Invitational Gallery for Tulsa area artists, the Youth Art Gallery, featuring artwork of Tulsa area students, The Center Gallery, featuring artwork created by clients of The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges and art made from reused, recycled and re-purposed materials can be found in the "Green" Gallery.
The outdoor area of the Tulsa International Mayfest includes fine arts, crafts, three stages of performing artists with music and dancing. You can view work of Juried Artist’s from across the country in the Mayfest galleries and shop their booths to take a piece home with you. The Mayfest KidZone is a huge attraction which has a hands-on art activity area for children of all ages.
During the Tulsa International Mayfest over 100 musicians and dancers will perform on four stages throughout the festival. Mayfest brings in the best of Tulsa’s musicians as well as headline musicians from across the country.
Food and Fun.
And you can’t have a festival without food so be sure to bring your appetite! From funnel cakes and corndogs to gyros and pineapple whip, the Tulsa International Mayfest offers food options with a wide variety of ethnic flavors.
Tulsa Mayfest is for both the serious and casual art lover with the goal of promoting a wider knowledge of and appreciation for arts and humanities. Admission to all of the activities at Mayfest is always free! The festival opens at 11 a.m. daily and is open until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
